On Our Bookshelves...
What has Pastor Larry been reading lately?
The latest book I've read is Simply Good News: Why the Gospel is News and What Makes it Good by N.T. Wright. I read it to complement Yancey's book on "Vanishing Grace" - which the Monday night study group is reading. On the back cover is the quote: "What if the good news Jesus came to announce is much bigger, much better, and includes much more than what happens after we die?...Wright reveals what the gospel really is and how it can transform our todays just as much as our tomorrows."
Crossing the Horizon - by CCH parishioner Deanna Emberley Bailey
Based on Deanna's tragic loss of her two sons, 12-year old Solon and 10-year old Liam, this story demonstrates love's unstoppable ability to connect us forever to those we cherish. Please visit Home - Deanna Emberley Bailey to learn more about this poignant and uplifting tale of love reaching beyond the boundaries of life and death to a lasting relationship--one that crosses the horizon.
