GUIDELINES FOR ASSISTING WITH SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE
Reading and Invocation
Larry will email you a few days before the Sunday Service and send you a copy of the bulletin. It will include the passages to be read and whether he wants an invocation included. The invocation is just a brief prayer inviting God into our worship time. Keeping it short and simple is best.
Serving Communion
You will be assigned on the schedule to bring the grape juice and the bread. Also, don't forget to include some gluten free rice crackers (they are kept in the refrigerator). You will need to arrive early enough to set up the communion table with the white tablecloth, fill the juice cups, and put the cubed bread on the plates. The last part of the Communion Service will be collecting the coin offering. You are also responsible for clean up.
Coffee hour
If your name appears on the same day as the coffee hour, you are responsible for bringing the half and half or milk, getting the coffee started before church and soliciting goodies. You are also responsible for clean up after the coffee hour. This may all sound a little overwhelming at first, but it is not as bad as it seems. If we have enough people helping, our turns will be spread out quite a bit.
If you are unable to assist on the Sunday you are assigned, please ask someone on the schedule to switch with you.
